Safety always comes first in the lab. It is important to me that my mentees are well-trained so they can be safe. No reaction is worth compromising our safety.

We never reach our full potential as scientists if we don't prioritize creating learning and research communities where everyone is given an equal chance to succeed and thrive. Being inclusive is more than just the right thing to do, it will lead to the best and most innovative science.

I believe that our research is never more important than mental and physical well-being. I encourage my mentees to set boundaries between their work and life and I strive to do the same.
